August 2024 Missions Update

We are grateful to God for the privilege granted us to partake in August 2024. We pray that you will enjoy open heaven perpetually and every barrier the devil will place on your way from achieving God's purpose for your life will give way this month in Jesus’ name. Thank you for your partnership with us and all your many sacrifices. God did so much these past months and we are truly grateful.

Evangelism and Discipleship

Indigenous Believers
We consistently go out for evangelism and embark on outreaches and several souls were won to the Lord. From the Sahel region, the desert tribe bowed to His Lordship as prophesied in the Scripture—some from the religion of our other cousin, the bondwoman. Our missionaries from the North Central and North East of Nigeria also gave similar reports of conversion and supernatural healing of several kinds. Join us in praying that Christ be formed in the lives of all the converts and that God will continue to breathe on the efforts of our missionaries labor to disciple them. We have more Discovery Bible study groups where we disciple these converts.

Physical Structures and Community Developments

Dukawa church at Tugan Ali

The Dukawa church building at Tugan Ali, Niger State is completed. Join us to thank the Lord for helping us despite the heavy rain and the insecurity. Please, pray for God’s servant (name withheld) whom God used to singlehandedly sponsor the building project.

The Zarazong borehole project is finally completed. It is connected to solar and we have a consistent supply of water now.

Kwalan Gobirawa water supply

At Kwalan-Gobirawa, the borehole is fully completed. It is also connected to solar now and the villagers all assemble at the mission house to fetch water.

Home of Grace Update

Rosa and Domshak

God has consistently helped us to help the orphans, vulnerable, and missionary kids despite the hyperinflation and the polluted social environment of our days. Our priority has remained the spiritual lives of the kids. We are delighted to report that to the best of our understanding, most of them are genuinely born again. Two of them, Sarah and Alheri were sent away because we realized that they could no longer be helped, and leaving them posed a risk to the others. Please, pray along with us that Christ will be truly formed in the lives of these children.

We do our best to provide them with the best education we can afford. God has helped us to help them through this academic session. Emmanuel and Zechariah have completed their remedial science program and in September/October 2024, they will become full-fledged undergraduates. Blessing and Samuel have completed their first year as undergraduates and will be resuming their 200 level at the University of Jos. Elizabeth Daji is in ND 2 at the Plateau State Polytechnic. Comfort has completed her Secondary school education and is awaiting admission into University of Jos.

Graduation ceremony at Trinity Academy

By implication, we will have five persons in tertiary institutions next session (the next two months or thereabout). The cost is staggering but we know God is equal to the task. Racheal (from Fulani extraction) completed her Primary school and has been admitted to JSS 1. Sunday (from the Niger Republic), Yakubu, and Timothy have been promoted to final year(SSS 3). That means paying three-term school fees, both NECO and WAEC exam fees at the beginning of the term as well as those in primary school classes.

We covet your prayers for the funds needed to pay these bills and at the same time take care of their feeding. Please, pray God’s blessings on our partners who are already paying some of the bills. We have some missionary kids outside the fold of Home of Grace and truly need help. Pray that God provides help.

Youth Missions Summit

We are mindful of the reality that if the unfinished task will be completed, deliberate efforts must be

Breakout session at the Summit

made to include the Joshua Generation. In July 2024, we had the Students/Youth Missions Summit which attracted our youth leaders from across our mission fields and several universities and polytechnics.  We had three days of intensive teachings, prayers, and celebrations. We had good responses to mission opportunities. We are thankful to God for the awesome time in His presence and to Mrs. Grace Iyanda, Pastor Okwoli, and Joy Agaba, Lucy, and Daniel Abah for bringing God’s word and the Youth President, Overcomer Livinus, and her leadership team. Please, pray that the impact from the youth summit will be indelible.

Missions Training

Our regular missions training program is going well. Our students are currently undergoing their internship in various mission fields and we are impressed with the mind-blowing report we are getting from the field leaders. Our bi-annual Advanced Mission Leadership course is starting on October 7, 2024. It is to last for seven days instead of 10 days. We expect 20 leaders who have served on the mission fields for at least 10 years from across fields in Nigeria and abroad. The cost is hefty but the training is critical as it helps us to update whatever pre-field training the leaders had received because of the changing mission landscape. We covet your prayers for the journey mercies for the mission leaders, the resource persons, and the funds to meet the budget.

Missions Events

The Plateau State Nigeria Evangelical Mission Association(NEMA) will hold a missions summit on August 10-11, 2024 at the NEMA headquarters. Also, God's Care Missions will hold its annual World Calebite Conference on August 13-17, 2024. Dr. Andrew Abah will feature as one of the main speakers at the two events. Pray for open heaven and journey mercies to and from Okpo, Kogi State. Also closely related to that is a global event, the 4th Lausanne Conference will be held at Incheon, South Korea on September 21-28, 2024. We will participate as one of Nigeria's delegates as usual. Next is the Advanced Missions Leadership course as mentioned earlier at the Grace Foundations headquarters on October 7-13, 2024.

Prayers and Appreciation

Once again, thank you so much for your selfless consistent partnership. God has helped us together to advance God's kingdom beyond what we can publish here. Most of our testimonies cannot be published in the public domain because of the security implications. We continue to covet your partnership because the journey ahead is still far.

v Please, take time to read through this update over and over and pray on the points of prayers raised. On a sad note, our missionary, Emmanuel Boubaccar fell from the rooftop and had some fractures and injuries. Pray for speedy healing.

Also, pray for divine protection for our missionaries and their families laboring in very dangerous terrains. Staying back to labor in some of the fields requires huge courage and taking risks.

v The economy is biting very hard on the various fields and caring for the converts as well as people is more demanding now than ever. Pray for divine provision.

v Pray also for funds for the completion of housing projects in some of our fields and to kickstart new ones where the missionaries are going through such challenges.

v Pray for all our partners for God's blessings on all sides.

v On August 12 this year, I will be 60 years on earth. I covet your prayers more than any other birthday gift.
