Calvary greetings in Jesus' name.
We appreciate God for preserving us to be part of November 2021. God has been truly gracious to us in every sense. Thank you so much for your partnership thus far. Your love, prayer, financial support, and passion helped us immensely to advance His kingdom to the final frontiers where we are now. Our prayer is that your pending desires would become the 11th-hour miracles of the year from God this month. Below are reports of what God has used your partnership with us to accomplish as well as prayer points:
Soul Winning and Discipleship
Water baptism anchored by Kabiru Bashiru and Yohanna Musa |
Evangelism across the various mission fields in Nigeria and other countries where we work are increasingly yielding results. All the missionaries reported that with the rainy season ceasing, it is now possible to go out from house to house and conduct outreaches/crusade in fields where they are still possible to do so.
- At Tugan Haske, about 300 persons attended the outreach program, and 15 persons surrendered their lives to Christ.
- At Kuble, no fewer than 400 persons attended the outreach, and 40 surrendered their lives to Christ.
- At Bolu mission field, the missionaries visited the clinic at Guggu, where they preached and prayed for the sick. One of the women prayed for, Latif Danladi, surrendered her life to Christ. She has been discharged from the hospital, and the plan is to follow her up.
- On the Kamberi field, a woman with a tumor came for prayers, and she was healed immediately. Another person who felt an object moving around her body also was prayed for and got healed.
- At Zull and Samunaka, several converts were baptized.
- At Oma mission field, the royal head, which has since given his life to Christ and has been a tremendous blessing to the activities of the missionary, suddenly came under attack. The attack was so severe that he lost consciousness. After much prayers, he was rushed to the nearest medical center at Ijadoga while prayers continued. To the glory of God, he regained consciousness, and he is getting stronger now.
Literacy bridge
At Bolu field, the missionaries continue to conduct adult literacy programs to help the people know how to read and write. Someone volunteered to complement the efforts of the missionaries as a teacher. Please, pray along with us that the literacy program would continue to serve as a bridge to the unbelievers to embrace the gospel and the believers to enhance discipleship efforts.
At Samunaka, 60 kids are currently enrolled in our learning center. We have three additional teachers that are helping to teach. Six pupils graduated from the primary level into secondary level.
Insecurity
The issue of insecurity is no longer news, but the height of the insecurity is becoming threatening. At Bolu field, they killed two persons for two consecutive months behind the mission house. In a section of Niger State, especially the Kamberi and Dukawa fields, the level of abductions, robbery, and killings is almost becoming a norm. It is terrifying to travel to the nearest town, which is New Bussa. The district head of Wawa was abducted during the period under review. In some other parts of Niger State, the Boko Haram hoisted their flags and demanded tax from the people.
Field Church Building and Water Projects
Newly completed Sanga church |
One of the greatest felt needs of the people is water. They travel very far to access water and desire that one day the God they do not know will bless them with water. That desire became one of our prayers when we engaged them. We trust the Lord that if God answers our prayer, it will attract many to God’s kingdom. God is already answering our prayer. In a recent meeting with the leadership of Final Command facilitated by the immediate past Executive Secretary of Nigeria Evangelical Missionary Association (NEMA), Uncle Mike Adegbile, an NGO partnering with the ministry, Living Water, has committed to sinking a borehole during the heart of the coming dry season. Please, pray along with us that this promise will be fulfilled and the purpose of attracting the people to Jesus will be realized. It was the same way the Senior Pastor of Soteria Church did. Dr. Chuka Anude negotiate with a Pastor in the church who sank a borehole at Bum. Pray that God blessed us with many of such partners.
The work at Sanga is in partnership with Eternity Ministry. From the onset, they provided the upkeep allowance for the missionary couple, Yunusa and Peace Adamu, until the last session, paid their children school fees, bought a motorcycle for them and a grinding machine. Please pray along with us that God would bless them richly in return for what they do and that God would raise more of such partners.
The church at Ahole is still at the roofing level because of financial challenges. Pray that the Lord would provide all that is needed to roof the church. The church floor was filled up with sand, ready for flooring after the roof is complete.
The rainy season is over, and several low-cost church buildings will be built with muds, roofs with zinc, and plastered and floored with cement for some of our new fields, as well as two other churches with cement blocks.
Missions Training
The school of Cross-Cultural Missions has continued to wax stronger and stronger. We currently have 19 students undergoing the regular one-year missions training. The new trend now is that God is giving us several trusted hands mainly second-generation missionary trainees. For example, God blessed us with six trainees from Fulani background, four from Hausa background, and four others from Mumuye, among others. The trainees are very passionate about the unreached people in general and their people in particular.
While they are doing very well with their training, our gross challenge is inadequate foodstuffs. The background most of them come from is such that they cannot generate funds from. Some of them has a scholarship of N130,000 covering their training for one year, which include tuition, field trip, accommodation, utilities, lecture notes, and N36000 for foodstuffs. Still, with the hyperinflation, the N36,000 for a year is now grossly inadequate. Besides inflation, some of them came with their children. Please, pray along with us for a miracle of funds or supply of foodstuffs.
Home of Grace (HOG)
The kids are doing well. Almost all of them were promoted to the next class except one of them. Some of them performed exceptionally well. Yakubu Abel and Paul Omali came first in their classes. Naomi came second. Rosa, Rebecca, Gabriel, and Racheal had distinctions in all their subjects. The result of the other children are above average, and for those who wrote the NECO exam, the least number of credits was five. Victor Aderemi had six credits and three passes in his NECO exam, while Blessing Garba had five credits with three passes.
With the new session, they are to pay new school fees even though last term was very short. In addition to the school fees, they all need new textbooks. Some of them, especially some of those adopted for monthly support, already have most of them. Pray along with us for funds to provide substantial textbooks for the others.
We covet your prayers as we work on ensuring that Christ is formed in them. Please, pray along with us, especially for the teenagers. Three of them have been a source of concern to us, but we keep believing God that, like every other teenager, they will soon outgrow the misbehaviors.
Widows on the increase
As insecurity, as well as health challenges, persists, the number of widows is on the increase. Grace Foundation continues to help encourage them in some ways through the financial commitments of our partners. During the period under review, we helped two widows to clear up outstanding house rent. We also paid the school fees of some widows’ children, including the registration fees of an undergraduate. We have a widow, wife of a late missionary who is currently going through the critical need of accommodation for whom we are trusting the Lord to build a small room for her during this dry season. The hut she has been living in was leaking profusely during the rainy season.
Transitions
Similarly, one of our colleagues, Pastor Habila Solomon laboring among the Mumuyes, was killed by some of the enemies of the gospel. Please, pray for his family and the ministry team that he left behind. His death is a huge loss to the mission community in Nigeria, especially that he is one of the few indigenous believers from Yobe State.
Just yesterday November 3, 2021), another missionary, Rev. Steve Rango who have been laboring at Shinkai mission field in Kebbi State passed on to glory. Please, pray for his wife and the mission community in
Conclusion
To sum up, again, thank you so much for all you do to join hands with us to continue to thrive at these trying times as per advancing His kingdom in the dark places of the earth. We earnestly appreciate you and pray that the Lord bless you richly in return. We continue to covet your prayers for:
1.
For all the converts in all our mission fields that Christ be formed in them.
2.
Divine protection for all of us, missionaries and partners. The risk involved
in missions now is incredible.
3. Pray for fresh unction and courage for the
missionaries to continue strong and finish well.
4.
Pray for funds for every aspect of the ministry:
a.
Completion of all our building projects such as our Ahole and other field
churches, Zarazong mission house, the upper floor of the HOG Hostel, and other missionary residences
b.
Missions training such as foodstuffs for missionary trainees and sponsorship
for those that do not have sponsors yet.
c.
For funds to procure textbooks and other school-related needs for the Home of
Grace (HOG) kids.
5.
Pray for the Home of Grace (HOG) kids that they will grow in fear of God and
that all our investment in their lives will not be in vain and the missionaries
in charge for wisdom, grace, and courage.
