Dearly Beloved,
Calvary greetings in Jesus’ name. Thank you for your
partnership these past months. Your prayers had
kept us safe in the hollows of
God’s hands. If you have followed the unfolding events, you must have heard
that over 200 persons were killed in Jos and the villages around us within the
last two weeks and state governors have sent buses to evacuate their state indigenes,
especially those that are students from
tertiary institutions.
Home of Grace/Furaka & Zarazong
Sounds of gunshots and silent killings around Bauchi
Ring Road, close to our Furaka Mission base in the face of 24hour curfew that
lasted for days were tormenting and stressful for us. We are grateful to God
for sparing our lives and taking care of our traumatized little kids at the
Home of Grace (HOG). You will recall that parents of some of the kids were
slaughtered in their presence in the past, and the crisis remind them of the
horrors. We have relocated the children to a safer place at Zarazong and some
to Abuja until calm returns. We continue to covet your prayers for peace to be
restored fully. For the second time, the government has relaxed the curfew from
24hours to12hours.

The Home of Grace hostel project has advanced. Half of
the ground floor has been decked. Six rooms have been fixed, and six beds and
mattresses have been bought. We are trusting God for the fund to complete the
toilets before they move in. We are grateful to all of you who contributed to
make the project a reality. Hopefully, the second wing of the ground floor
would be decked before the end of September, providing additional six rooms on the ground floor.

News from Across the Mission Fields
Despite the happenings in Plateau State, our
missionaries continued to send reports to us from various mission fields on
souls being saved.
From the Oma field, Stephen Paul, Monica
Hassan and Mary Joshua reported that more converts at both Alagrani and
Ugbogwu who have been attending the discipleship classes had come together to
start an indigenous church. Pray for these new believers that Christ will be
formed in them.
From the Mamukan Mission field in Adamawa
State, Ahmadu Adamu reported that God continues to touch the Fulanis, Mumuyes,
and Shamba people. Many of them are surrendering their lives to Christ. Some of
them, as usual, are going through severe persecution and covet our prayers.
Ahmadu’s wife has mental health challenges making it difficult to return fully
to the Gommana field in Northern Cameroon.
The converts there are, however, still doing well in the Lord to the glory of God.
From Bolu mission field,
Lynda and Yohanna reported that insecurity is growing and it is capable of
leading to the closure of the work. Two farmers were killed by the Jihadists
suspected to be Fulanis very close to our mission house. Please, pray along
with us for both courage and divine protection. Inspite the challenges, they are
still continuing in stepping up efforts at reaching out to the nomadic Fulanis.
Joel Dukiya and Yunusa Adamu reported from Sanga
field t and great number of indigenous Sanga people are embracing the
Lordship of Jesus. Despite the difficulty in crossing the streams because of
the rain, many still come out to attend the discipleship class. The church
building under construction is almost completed. Both inside and outside have
been plastered. Funds have been released for three doors and eight windows
which ordinarily would have been fully installed by now, but the contractor
could not access Jos (the nearest town to the field) to buy the materials
because of the 24hour curfew.

The work among the Kamberis, Dukawas, and Bokkos has continued to spread. Besides the harvest, we are enjoying in Benin Republic under the leadership of Seyeri, and his wife, Luka, Sunday and Faith Musa reported that we now have indigenous believers in Kubule, Egbesi, Ishi, Tugan Ali, Angwa Borgu, Tugan Haske, Tugan Rama, and Samunaka. We have missionaries in each of these places that cover surrounding villages. After several months of medical checkups, the Jos University Teaching Hospital concluded that it is too late to perform surgery on Andrew Marafa’s eyes. We are trusting God for divine intervention. He is currently working among the Kamberis. Keep him in your prayers. Kabiru and Deborah of Zull field, Ibrahim and Hauwa Musa of Dir field, Rahila and Yohanna Musa of Bum field also reported significant advances despite the heavy downpour. Mission Enablers, a group based in Lagos visited the fields in Bauchi State and together with the missionaries had series of outreaches and embarked on several projects such as sinking well, rebuilding of literacy center, and repair of a collapsing church building.

Missions Training
Our School of Cross-Cultural Missions students are
waxing stronger despite all the pressures of insecurities in the land. The
Batch 26 that traveled for two months' internship returned safely. Batch 27
students have also resumed. They have just rounded off their History of
Missions course and are currently focusing on Missionary Anthropology.

Thank you for all you do to partner with us to advance His kingdom. We will continue to covet your prayers for divine protection, fresh unction, and divine provision as there are more lands to conquer and the risk is multiplying by the day. We also pray for you always. God bless you richly.
