May 2013 Missions Update

We bring you Calvary greeting in Jesus name and deep appreciation for kneeling with us in prayers throughout the month of April. It was a difficult and challenging month but God sustained us through your prayers and we are grateful to Him for helping us enthrone Jesus as Lord in many dark spot of the world.

One of the four missionaries
that drowned
The month started with the horrible news of the untimely death of Sojourners Mission’s missionaries who got drowned while crossing to another village for prayer vigil. The news was heartbreaking and for days we could only pray, weep and asked why? It shook the entire mission body in Nigeria.

Also, much of our ministry travels were cut down because of the breakdown of all our vehicles. The Toyota Liteace bus is okay now but all the tyres have to be replaced. We were also able to get the Toyota Homer bus engine for N500,000 and paid N30,000 for the way bill but have not taken delivery of it yet. The jeep is still awaiting replacement of the gear box. In the absence of the stronger vehicles, the smaller Toyota Corolla went through rigorous stress in the journey to Niger Republic and back but it is serving for local run for now. Pray along with us that these vehicles will all be put in order and our ministry work will enjoy better speed this month of May.

Despite all odds, we enjoyed indelible progress in several of our Missions fields.  The
Uncompleted building
two self-contained bedroom flat in Kamberi field has been built to roofing level. We trust God for N220,000 to roof it and possibly fix the doors this month of May. The new church building in Dukawa field is in the process of roofing now. The good news is that the converts teamed up to bear the bulk of the cost of the church project with minimal input from the partner/Headquarter. We praise God for the labour of Sabatu & Nuhu Karanbana which is already yielding all round result.  Work on the foundation of the new Bolu Missions house began with excavation and gathering of hardcore that will be used for the forming/foundation. We trust God to buy and take to the mission field 2000pieces of 6 inches blocks and cement before the rain becomes intense during which the field can no longer be accessed by vehichle. Pray along with us for God to provide fund.

The new set of students for the School of Cross-Cultural Missions has fully resumed and lectures have since commenced. The last set of graduates has been deployed to the mission field. Rabo Yakubu is now anchoring the work in Dir field along with Bulus Inlaya. They took over from Matthew Ganu who passed on in March and Musa Magaji who left for church work on “promotion” to the rank of a Reverend in another organisation. Ayuba Ibrahim also  joined our growing list of staff and currently labors at Kubule warming up to move to Benin Republic to pioneer the work among the Kamberis there.

We suffered a temporary setback at the Furaka front  as Nathaniel Udalor bow out of missionary service under Grace Foundation. After four years of spiritual mapping in her home state, Anambra, Nigeria our former head of the Unreached Children Home [UCH] now Home of Grace [HOG],Hope Ejifor resumed back work in Grace Foundation at Furaka. While spending time to prepare for foreign mission, she currently serves in the training & Administrative Department. Also in answer to prayers, God added to us another staff, Mrs. Oluwakemi Adediran.  She is a graduate of accounting from Kwara State Polytechnics and currently serves in account section.

Evangelism and Discipleship which is the core purpose of our existence is progressing consistently. Report from the mission fields have been quite heartwarming. From Niger Republic we are amazed at how God is using the little kids to preach the gospel across the surrounding villages and the positive responses coming in. Also in some of the Bauchi State villages, (names withheld for security reasons], God is giving us Muslim background converts. Some of the converts were ordinarily potential vessels in the hand of Boko Haram.  Turnout for discipleship classes and church services is dropping again since the farm season set in but we are not discouraged. It only calls for more prayers.

Home of Grace Kids
Five of our kids at the Home of Grace wrote University entrance examination (JAMB). Results of four of them are still withheld. Three of them are writing the Senior School Certificate examination and those in kindergarten, nursery and primary school have resumed. We have paid school fees of some. We are left with N68,000 to pay up the balance of the school fees and N23040 to buy few items to keep them going. We are grateful to partners who have been consistent in meeting the needs of these kids. They take time to prayer for you often.

We are always encouraged to know that you are with us in prayers. We are grateful to you for your selfless financial input in the work. You have meant so much to us and we cannot thank you enough for your partnership. Pray for divine protection for our entire workforce even as we also pray for you always. Pray also for unction as w daily confronts challenges. Pray for fund to meet up our budget for the month of May which include the roofing project in Kamberi, the mission house at Bolu, the repairs of our buses and the Furaka building project. We also covet prayers for our staff which specially needs like health challenges and funds to meet children schooling and family of our staff for divine protection.

God bless you richly
