June 2013 Missions Update

Greetings in Jesus name. We trust this update will find you growing in grace. The past month has been a very busy one all across the nations where our missionaries labour. We are grateful to you for your selfless prayers and financial inputs. Several times, we almost got to the point of been stranded but the one who called us constantly come to our rescue and push us forward apparently in answer to your prayers. We have therefore enjoyed concrete progress despite all odds. Below are some of the praise as well as the prayer points:
More Secret Disciples from Fulani Muslim Background
A Fulani woman
As the atmosphere gets more tense in the North of Nigeria, God is touching more lives from the Muslim background and more and more disciples are being recorded in Bauchi State of Nigeria. While some are courageously beginning to step out to introduce their new faith in Christ, the missionary couple laboring among them is encouraging them to still conceal their faith till they are well established. Please pray for the missionaries and their family as well as these converts for divine protection.

Also, targeted evangelism on the elders of the Bolu tribe is beginning to yield result. One of them has surrendered his life to Christ and now publicly identifies with the Christians by attending church service. The crack on the wall of the missions house at Bolu has increased to an irreparable and dangerous point that the missionaries will only be endangering their lives if they continue to live in the building. They have moved their precious belonging into the church.

They moved on by faith to begin the foundation work by excavation and packing stones by direct labour but fund is still needed for the masons workmanship, cement, transportation totaling N100,000 and being prayed for. We are also praying that fund will come in for blocks and more bags of cement to proceed with the work before the rain will become very heavy and road to the village become increasingly inaccessible.

Dukawa Field Still Covets Help
The Dukawa converts have made tremendous progress in their church building. As a proof to their spiritual and physical growth, they bore all the financial cost of the new church building
Dukawa Church
from the scratch with only minimal input from the headquarters during the roofing. The challenge now is that the rain is already beginning to wash off the mud wall of the building and to save it from further damage, the church need to be quickly plastered. This will gulp approximately 40 bags of cement and cost for transportation and mason’s workmanship.

Nuhu and Sabatu Karanbana who are leading the Dukawa team have sent an appeal for prayers, and when and where necessary financial support to get the job completed. The converts are growing and God is adding to their number consistently.

Helping us Cope With the Challenges of Growth at HOG
When in 1993 we started the Unreached Children Home (UCH) which we now call Home of Grace (HOG), all the kids were really small and all we needed to keep them going were clothing, food and textbooks. Our missionaries sacrificed their little income to meet these basic needs and they did it joyfully. As the kids increased in number, we got partners involved who adopted the kids, pray for them, send monthly support of between N3000 to N3500 to them and some

pays the school fees of their adopted kids and provide Christmas gift. Over the years, some of these kids have really grown. To the glory of God, one of them is now a graduate in Economics and is warming up for his National Youth Service Corps. This coming session alone, four of them sat for the Joint Admission Matriculation Board examination (JAMB) examination.

The results of some were withheld. The performances of others were not too impressive. They wept profusely and we have all battled together with the emotional pain of the JAMB disappointment. After much prayer on the way forward, they are all being offered opportunities to pursue the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) IJMB program (equivalence of Advanced level). We are excited about the offer and will not want them to stay longer at home. God’s wiling, if they perform very well. They will be offered direct entry admission next academic session.

The challenge now is coping with the finance needed to move these four young adult forward in life. It is not a fun. Tuition fees for each person will gulp N30,000($192). They will need additional fund for feeding, books, hostel, etc. At the end of the day, each of these kids may have gulp N200,000 for one full session. Is it worth it? I think it is! How can you help? PRAY! No soldier goes to the battle front at his expense. Join us to confront this challenge of growth on your kneel for resources to come in as soon as possible.

Kamberi Missions Field Kids' Building Collapsed
Collapsed building
Sad news?  Not really! It is rather a testimony of God’s faithfulness. The building housing several kids at the Kamberi mission field collapsed last week. It would have being another horror but for divine intervention. The building collapsed in the middle on the night following terrific storm on the kids.

The missionary on the field, Sunday Musa  who sent in the report was also lying down beside the building when the incidence took     place. The good news is that none of the kids sustained even the slightest injury. How did that happen? It was angelic intervention and it’s beyond description. To God be the glory! Thank you for your consistent prayers for us! They really help.
Children on whom the building collapsed on
The two bedroom flat we are putting up at the field will readily help if God provide the N220,000 to roof the place and also fund to fix the windows and doors as well as plaster and floor it. In the interim, the kids may have to move into the church pending a miracle. Pray that God will turn away the mosquitoes from their direction until He provides the needed miracle.

34 Shanga People Accepted Christ
On a positive note, our team at the foot of Zaranda Mountain took the gospel to Wull and in response; no fewer than 34 persons gave their live to Christ among the Shanga people. The team led by Ladi Ekpa has also laid the foundation for a bigger church building at Bum that is expected to sit 300 as the older church building has increasingly become too small.

Four students from Missions Supporter’s League (MSL) were sent to the field and besides being exposed to different aspect of pioneer missions, they also made tremendous input in the area of evangelism and discipleship.  Also on a positive note, the mission house at Bum that the roof was blown off has been re-roofed and the place is now been put to use again. Pray with us that there will be no re-occurrence.

Appreciation & Prayer Points
On a concluding note, we lack adequate words to register our deepest appreciation for your consistent partnership over the years. Without you, we would not have attained our present height without you. We will continue to count on your earnest prayer and financial support as we press forward despite the increasingly fierce and intense opposition. Please, pray along with us for all our missionaries working in very hostile environment and their converts. We sometimes contemplate withdrawing some but the thought of leaving the converts will not allow us.

Pray also for divine intervention in the area of finances. Some of our partners officially notified us of their withdrawal early this year. Some of them were very consistent and we had built our 2013 budget based on their past commitment. We are left in the midst of the ocean to swim but we have consistently looked unto God to help us out. We need fund to complete our building projects as well as to meet the challenges of the upkeep of the orphans and vulnerable kids God has committed to our care.

Some of our missionaries also have financial needs to cater for their children school fees and medical expense. Pray for those with health challenges that God will heal them and those trusting God for the fruit of the womb that God will grant them miracle. We have some of the students of the School of Cross-Cultural Missions still trusting God for their fees of N69,000 and basic pocket money. The School also require capital grant and support as fees paid are grossly inadequate to even feed the missionary trainees not to talk of the tuition needs.
We are extending our foreign mission work to Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in July/August, Malawi in August/September and return to Latin America in September. These nations have strongly requested for our input and we are praying about them.

Again, thank you so much and God bless you. You are on constantly on our prayer list and we believe that God will reward your labour of love and sacrifice for the unreached people groups. We deeply appreciate you.
