March/April 2013 Missions' Update

Dearly Beloved,

Calvary greetings and happy Easter from our Zarmaganda base this in Jesus name. We rejoice greatly at your partnership and deeply appreciate your consistent effort in joining us to enforce the Lordship of Jesus where His name is not known which is the core reason why He died, rose and commissioned us. We are glad that despite all odds, we are concretely subduing darkness and its forces and seeing God at work.

Over a hundred souls came to the Knowledge of Jesus and many more restored to faith through both personal evangelism of our team and I in the past one month across the mission fields in and outside Nigeria. It is always great time of rejoicing enjoying such great harvests especially after moments of drought. Discipleship effort which is the core of our work is ongoing to ensure that these converts live like Christ.

The 18th African Missions Summit has come and gone but the impact will remain indelible. As at the last count, we had no fewer than 400 persons in attendance from over ten nations of the world. Many persons testified of personal encounter with God. We are certain that the summit have and will continue to accelerate the speed of the harvest. The climax of the summit was the inauguration of the Arabian Peninsula Partnership (APP). The African Coordinator of the APP made presentation on the peninsular highlighting what God is doing, what needed to be done and how we can get the job done. We took time to pray for the region of the world and many made commitment to get involve in enthroning Christ as Lord in that part of the world. Thank you for helping to ensure the success of the summit.

In continuation of our effort to recapture some of the lands we laboured over two decades ago that seems to be going back to grip of darkness, we had the 2nd Annual Oma Outreach  two weeks ago.  It was characterized by real power encounter. 18 scorpions were killed in the first 24 hours of the program. There were attacks from all fronts but God fought for us. Close to 50 souls surrendered their lives to Christ. Many others were set free from the chains of the devil. We still have a case of a woman who has been pregnant for three years and covets your prayer for divine intervention for her.

Our team moved to Aiona, the mission field I laboured in 1984 also in our bid to check the encroaching darkness through strengthening of the existing churches in the land and reaching out to the lost souls. Again, so many persons surrendered their lives to Christ and many captives set free. This is not without reaction from the territorial powers. First a rabbit bite one of our team members. Secondly, either the same or another rabbit jumped on another team member as it were inviting her for a fight. There were many other confrontations which we cannot put to words. In all, we were more than conquerors.

We extended our advocacy for the dark places of the earth to Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria as God opened door of End Time Congress on World Evangelisation for our team. We served as God’s oracle opening the eyes of the church in Benue State to the world’s most needy mission fields and focusing on the lives that God can use to change the world. Elsie Govender spoke on her home country, South Africa and her life as a person. It was such a great inspiration to many seeing how God can use a widow from Hindu background to affect the world.  Barnet Phiri from Malawi also spoke on the opportunities for missions in Malawi and it was amazing how God raised a young Muslim boy to become a Bishop and a voice for Malawi.

We’ve gone through lots of challenges this past month and are still going through some tough ones. We earnestly covet your prayers for God to take us through as He had always done when you joined in praying for us. First, the first rain in Bauchi State was accompanied by a destructive storm which took away the roof of our mission house/class room at Zull. The missionary is currently homeless. We urgently need N69,300 to at least repair a portion for him to lay his head.

Secondly, the gear box of our bus got spoilt and it cost us over N200, 000 to replace it with a new one. Two weeks after, the engine of the same bus knocked.  We need between N580, 000 and N800, 000 to replace it depending on the grade we can afford.  Thirdly, our jeep packed up on our way from the mission field at Lafia, Nasarawa state. We managed to get it to Jos but were warned not use it again until is properly rectified.

We are thoroughly troubled but we are marching on. We are not use to begging for money and will not want to be a nuisance to our partner especially considering the fact that you have been sacrificially helping in many ways. We can at least trouble you to pray for us a little more. Your prayers can compel men to bring in the huge support we need now. If however, God bless you with resources which you feel you can let go for this work, you can feel free to contact us.

Thank you for being part of this great work. Together, we will bring back the King. Stay blessed.

His bond servant,

Andrew Abah
International Director
