URGENT PRAYER ALERT

Dear friends and partners,

This is an irregular time of the month to send our missions update but I need to get across to you urgently with some burden requiring urgent prayers.

The battle is getting fiercer and we need you now more than ever. It may no longer be news to you now, five days ago, armed robbers trailed me to my house and made away with my Toyota Corolla which God blessed us with 2 months ago.

The theft of the car is not as painful as the contents of the car that was driven along with the car. In it was my laptop, camera, external hard disk (500GB), internet modems, flash drive (8GB), textbooks, DVDs and other materials on the manuscript (two chapters of the book we are jointly working on in South Africa titled Evangelical Missions).

I also have in it almost N200,000 (not belonging to me), ATM cards, Drivers License, two bank tokens, one glucometer, my daughter’s school bag containing her textbooks (she is currently writing examinations and need them desperately), credit cards, etc. My secretary was also alighting with me from the car and her hand bag was forcefully snatched containing her money, ATM card, National ID card and other important documents.

You will recall that in February 2010, while on my way from Missions Fest in South Africa, the Ethiopian security officials made away with my laptop, camera and other goods. On May 18, 2010 just on my return from Japan, the taxi I boarded from Abuja made away with my laptop bag containing my laptop, international passport, credit cards, ATM cards, etc.

I am in pain, excruciating pain! I need just your PRAYERS now for God’s help to cope with the pain. In Acts 12, James was killed by Herod. When he saw that it pleased the Jews, he laid hand on Peter, imprisoned him with the aim of killing him. The church prayed unceasingly and there was a divine intervention. Pray along with me that both the car and all the items in it will be recovered.

Also join us to thank God that none of us was killed. My son was beaten. My daughter was dragged down from the car. They could as well shot us but for God’s intervention.

Snake invasion
The presence of snakes is normal in some of our mission fields but not on the Zull field. Few days ago, our missionaries sent us a report pleading for prayers for divine protection following the invasion of snakes on the field. Already, three persons were bitten and they died not long after that. Many of the snakes have come into the mission house, where the missionaries live. Some were killed while others escaped. Please pray for the missionaries, the converts and the villagers. The field was notorious for human beings turning into Hyenas to attack the church members but with prayers, that had subsided.

Appreciation
I want to use this medium to register my appreciation to members of our Furaka Community Chapel, our missionaries from the various fields, members of the Middle Belt Dialogue (MBD), Zarmaganda neighbours, and Face Book friends who have consistently sent us words of encouragement since the theft.

I also want to use this medium to register our deepest appreciations to those who sent Christmas gifts to our kids at the Unreached Children Home (UCH). Almost all of them have one or two pairs of clothes now. We desire that all future gifts should be designated toward their next term school fees and food stuffs.

We are also grateful to the Missions Supporters League for the sponsorship of the resuscitation of the missionaries’ motorcycle at Bolu (N20,000) and the fixing of doors and windows for the Bolu church (N70,000). We are grateful to all our partners who have supported in many other ways. We pray for you always. May God replenish your source and increase you in all fronts. Words are not adequate to convey our appreciation for your partnership.

Finally, do remember to uphold us in your prayers at this difficult time and above all that the stolen items be recovered intact soonest.

God bless you

In His grip,

Andrew Abah
