We made frantic effort to intensify our person-to-person witnessing during the period under review. There was no resistance whatsoever but only four persons acknowledge the need for Jesus and openly confessed their sins and invited Christ into their lives. The Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA), Nasarawa branch visited us in the month of October during which we hosted them for an evangelistic outreach. It was very fruitful. We got additional converts. This brings our total converts for this period to 10.
Because of our previous experience, without sounding contradictory, it is difficult to publish that these ones are born again yet until we see the evidence of abiding even though they have confessed Christ. We therefore appeal to you to join us in praying that God will cause their repentance to be genuine and that Christ be formed in them.
We have been working hard to follow-up the converts and older church members at personal levels in their various homes. We encounter quite a lot of difficulties because of their involvement in farm work. They are busy with harvesting their crops. Some of the converts such as Hamidu are actually very serious. We are trusting God for the sum of N63,000 to enable us send him to Grace Foundations’ Native School of Discipleship and Missions, a division of our Missions College in Jos as we groom him to continue with the work of evangelising his people effectively. Pray along with us in this direction.
At the church level, we concentrated on expository teaching on new life realities and God’s expectation from them now that they are Christians. The average attendance is nine and Church offerings ranges from N60 to N35.
We are heavily grateful to the network for supporting the well project. It has been dug and has been serving the villagers wonderfully. The only problem we have now is that it is sufficient for the whole villagers. When they all pound on it, the water dry up easily. We re-dug it during the period under review but that still could not solve the problem. We desire and pray that God will provide another well in the village head’s house as that will reduce the pressure over the existing one.
The Lord used the Gospel Banker, Warri to provide a brand new motorcycle for the field. We are grateful to them and to God Almighty. The broken down motorcycle has since been withdrawn to Jos for repair but will gulp quite a lot because of the level of damage.
God blessed us with a bouncing baby boy though with post-delivery hitch which led to the loosing so much blood. We are grateful to God that both the baby and the mother are fine now. Church Planting Partner International (CPPI), NIFES UNIJOS branch and several other groups visited the field.
Our Church services still hold under the tree with members sitting on log of wood. From speculation filtering to our ears, if God can help provide fund for a church building, the villagers will troop out to attend in large number and that will be a means of winning them to the Lord. At least N200,000 can help erect a small church that will service the people. We also need benches very seriously. We will therefore appreciate if you can focus your prayers on these needs, plus the converts that Christ be formed in them.
