MAY 2017 MISSIONS' UPDATE

Calvary greetings in Jesus name. How time flies! The month of April 2017 is gone. We appreciate your love and partnership this past month.  Again, the presence of God continues to cheer us up in all our endeavors.  Souls are embracing the Lord. Captives are set free. We cannot divorce your prayers from the result we are getting. We want to share some of these answered prayers plus some challenges to enable you to thank God on our behalf and as well pray more for us.

Niger Republic
Emma Boubacar on the newly donated tricycle
Moving our Home of Grace (HOG) and our missionaries' kids from Ahole through the dusty, rough road to Tibiri where we have the nearest primary school have become a nightmare. Almost on a monthly basis, some of the kids falls off from motorbike. One of the kids almost lost his legs  in one of the accidents and had gone through several surgeries. Given this, our team requested that we pray for God to provide a car for the conveyance of the kids to school. We prayed, and in apparent answer to the prayer, God used the Samaritan purse to bless us with a tricycle.

Although tricycle is not a car, it is certainly safer than a motorbike. We believe that God who prompted an organization that we are least familiar with to bless us with tricycle will still raise men that will bless us with a car. We are extremely grateful to the donor organization, and we are grateful to you for your prayers. Please join us to pray for the team and their work. Pray also for our Muslim Background Believers(MBB) who are going through severe persecution. One of HOG kids backslid and moved out of the mission house. He went through severe hardship, and after much prayer, he returned in April 2017. We covet your prayers that his return will result in genuine restoration to the faith.

Benin Republic
Outgoing Benin Republic Country Cordinator, Nuhu & his wife, Sabatu
Our Benin Republic National Director, Nuhu and his wife, Sabatu Karanbana have effectively handover the work to Yau Ibrahim. Yau and Raiya are  Fulanis from the Niger Republic and are already familiar with French Language but still need to learn the Bokko local language, and take the time to familiarize themselves with the culture. Please, pray along with us for them as they settle down to work among these people. Pray for divine protection because the level of power encounter on that field is fierce.

Middle East
God is at work in this region of the world even beyond our imagination and prayers. One of our adopted missionaries (name withheld) reported that they expects10 of the Kurdish MBB believers to resume Bible School last month. Instead of the ten candidates, 30 resumed. The response is mind-blowing. Please, pray that as the 30 MBB candidates go through the training, God will prepare them to reach their people. All the candidates have to be sponsored fully. Pray that God will provide resources for the team and the team leader and his family. If you need more information on the work in this region, we can provide them on more the secure platform upon inquiry on an individual basis. For security reasons, we choose to be economical with information via this medium.

HOG NIGERIA
Baby Victor
The Home of Grace (HOG) kids in Jos, Nigeria are growing well despite the adolescent challenges. Their Easter holiday provided an opportunity to spend quality time with them. Jacinta, Dauda and Blessing continued with their studies throughout the holiday in preparation for their JSS Examination.  Salisu, Mary, and Rachael resume their teaching practice and will continue until August 3, before they return to complete their NCE. Priscilla has completed her 100 level. We have a special need for school fees for 15 of the kids, and this is urgent because their school resumes on May 2, 2017. The holiday for Priscilla too is over. She is resuming 200 level now, and N45,000 is required for her to register and almost  N50,000 for other expenses during the semester. Pray along with us for God’s provision.

Research Documentation
We worked with other missions organizations the past two years to update the data bank of unreached communities in parts of Kogi States - The Igalas and Bassa nations. This is because the data we published 13 years ago are already obsolete. The verification of the updated work is almost completed. The databank for Igala nation will be presented at a conference in September and that of Bassa in November 2017. We plan to go to press between May and June 2017 so as to meet up with the deadline. We covet your prayer for funds to carry out these assignments.

Staff Matters
On a sad note, one of our missionaries lost his son to snake bite. Please, pray for the couple and all their relatives that God will comfort them. The hospital bill yet to be settled is N87,000. Pray for God’s provision.

Also, our missionary, Ladi Ekpa has completed her Degree program at the with Assemblies of God Bible School, Samunaka. Pray that God will help her to put to use all that she has learned to move the work under her forward. Nuhu & Sabatu Karambana, after handling over to Yau and Raiya Ibrahim have move to Bolu to take over leadership of the Bolu work. Please, pray for them for wisdom, protection, grace, etc.
Another staff, Paul Stephen has joined the growing list of our staff. He is to pioneer in Burkina Faso but will under six-month intensive orientation in the Niger Republic.  During that period, he will learn the French language.
